Tips for getting the best Hilton Head rental home experience:
When to go & When to reserve a Hilton Head rental home:
- Summer is high season in the Hilton Head area. To find the best vacation home within budget, we suggest booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at Hilton Head restaurants, beaches, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Hilton Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
- Property management companies often offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Often, property management companies supply Hilton Head area visitors guides which often include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Planning and choosing your Hilton Head vacation home:
- Choose a designated group leader, choose your vacation week, and choose a max budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Lagoon and Golf Course Views! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Hilton Head vacation rental search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is normally accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, email the host before you book your rental. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to establish what is suitable for your vacation family.
- If there's an individual Hilton Head destination you are crazy about, browse homes that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly property. Ask for information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Be aware that some hosts charge additional pet fees.
Tips for a smooth stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
- To make certain damages are not linked to your visit, inspect the property for any problem areas during arrival. Call the host immediately to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, television set or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents many problems.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Lock your rental while you're away. Protect your property!
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental a final time and look for damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on great reviews to compel future reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your feedback find their best vacation rental. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
