You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular attractions.
  • Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses.   • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Keep the property locked while you're out! Don't let crooks ruin your trip.
  • Upon check-out, complete a walk-through to make sure you have not leave anything behind. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental a final time and look for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a fantastic stay? Many rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your property and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear about it.
