Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- In the Hilton Head area, The sooner you can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked early. Booking your rental property six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property managers frequently offer customers an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. - Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are away, just like you would at home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected everything. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental one final time and look for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can. If the host isn't available, take photos of the rental to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on great feedback to propel future bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review.
