Finding the best vacation property experience:

How to get the best value:

  • The sooner your group can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked very early. Reserving your rental property six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
  • Summer is high season in the Hilton Head area. To book the largest rental home within your budget, we suggest booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at popular Hilton Head attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Hilton Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your group.
  • Booking websites typically offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
  • Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, travel guides contain money saving offers on nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Make a plan and choose a perfectrental home:

  • Select a group lead, choose your vacation dates, and choose a spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Spring Escape: Value for Golf\/Tennis\/Pickleball, Family Getaways in best Locale! has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly accessible on booking websites. If not, call the host before reserving the rental. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds. You'll need to work out what is optimal for your trip.
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or might be applied to your agreement.
  • Visiting for a single event? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

During your stay:

  • Put the manager's information in your smartphone.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Keep the property locked while you're away! Don't let burglars ruin your holiday.
  • Make a record of any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be valuable if a dispute arises.
  • Be a good neighbor. Often, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected everything. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on great reviews to inspire new reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
