Hilton Head vacation rental booking tips and tricks:

When to reserve a Hilton Head rental & When to go:

  • Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. Reserve your Hilton Head vacation home in the Fall or Spring to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Hilton Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Some property management companies offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Look for your local Hilton Head visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guide magazines contain deals for nearby accommodations and attractions.

Planning and picking yourrental home:

  • Begin by choosing your vacation dates and a spending budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. 2nd floor two bed villa- walk to shops, dining & playground in Harbourtown has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually available online. If they are not listed, email the property manager before booking your home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Additional pet fees or may be applied to your agreement.
  • Are you visiting for a single attraction? Use a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. .

More tips for your visit:

  • Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents a lot of concerns.
  • Lock your rental while you are away. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • To make sure damages aren't linked to your family's stay, make a record of any problem areas during arrival. Call the property manager right away to record any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an excellent source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected everything. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your family have a excellent stay? Most rental managers make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your property and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
