Rental property booking tips and tricks:

Sticking to a budget:

  • In the Hilton Head area, The sooner your group can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are booked very early. Reserving your vacation home six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
  • Summer time is high season in the Hilton Head area. To find the best rental within budget, we strongly suggest booking in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular Hilton Head attractions and restaurants. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Hilton Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family.
  • Property management companies frequently offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Hilton Head area visitors guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Make a plan and pick the best Hilton Head vacation home:

  • Begin by choosing your a vacation week and a spending budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. 2nd floor renovated end unit w/ stunning pool, lagoon, and ocean views! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is commonly accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, email the host before reserving the rental. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to book a property that allows animals. Request information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Usually, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's a particular Hilton Head beach you crave, search for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking

More considerations:

  • Store the owner's information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, stereo or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents lots of issues.
  • Lock your rental while you are out and about. Protect your property!
  • To make sure that no damages are attributed to your visit, inspect for any problem areas when you arrive. message the host immediately to record any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers bothering your peaceful home life. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all belongings. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your family have a terrific time? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property management company was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
