Tricks and tips for getting the best Hilton Head vacation home experience:

Getting the best value:

  • Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summertime is high season in Hilton Head. To get the best vacation home for your budget, we recommend booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at popular Hilton Head attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your family qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Property management companies often offer renters an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Often, rental management companies supply Hilton Head area travel guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Hilton Head area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Filter your rental search:

  • Start by choosing the best vacation week and a maximum budget.
  • Villamare 3223 has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Hilton Head rental home search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually accessible on booking websites. If not, call the property manager before you reserve the rental. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to determine what is suitable for your vacation.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly rental. Get details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some property owners charge additional pet fees.
  • If there's an individual Hilton Head destination you are enamored with, look for properties that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.

Tips for a fantastic stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the instructions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, intercom or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents quite a few concerns.
  • Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are away, just like you would at home.
  • Document any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately contact the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be useful if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers disrupting your life at home. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Just before checking out, take a final walk-through to confirm you did not leave anything behind. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a excellent time? Most rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
