Strategies to get the perfect Hilton Head vacation rental experience:
How to get the best value:
- Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Hilton Head area. Reserving a rental home in Spring or Fall is one of our best tips for saving money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
- Some property management companies offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your group.
- Property management companies often offer customers an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Hilton Head area travel guides that include special offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Select a group lead, select your vacation dates, and choose a spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your family requires. Top-floor condo with ocean views, on-site pools, beach access, & sports courts has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is regularly available on booking websites. If not, reach out to the property management company before reserving the home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to establish what configuration is suitable for your group.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you must book a rental that allows animals. Request specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some hosts charge additional pet fees.
- Is your family looking for specific amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
Advice for a fantastic stay:
- Take a copy of the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your . We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental while you are out and about. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- To make certain damages aren't linked to your family's visit, record any problem areas upon your arrival. message the host right away to record any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Respect your neighbors. Often, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Upon check-out, take a walk-through to make sure you did not leave anything behind. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a fantastic vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
