Hilton Head rental home booking tips:
When to visit Hilton Head & When to reserve a Hilton Head rental home:
- Summer time is high season in Hilton Head. To find the best value, consider shifting your family's Hilton Head vacation dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer great temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Hilton Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- The earlier you can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation property 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
- Property managers sometimes offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group.
- Property management companies often offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local Hilton Head visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, travel guide magazines contain money saving offers on nearby shops and restaurants.
Make a plan and choose a perfect Hilton Head rental home:
- Select a group lead, choose your dates, and choose a budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Quiet Hideaway with Pools, Hot Tub, Tennis & Easy Beach Access has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often accessible online. If they are not listed, call the property management company before reserving the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches. You'll need to work out which bed configuration is optimal for your vacation.
- Visiting for a specific attraction or event? If so, use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. .
- Some rentals allow pets, but some do not. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask your host about allowable breeds and types before booking.
Tips to have a terrific stay:
- Add the owner's contact information to your phone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Document any issues with the property during check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be very helpful if a dispute arises.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor. Often, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your vacation home while you're out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected everything. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property one final time and look for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, remember to take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a wonderful time? Many rental websites make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental and/or host was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
