Tricks and tips for getting the perfect Hilton Head rental experience:
Find your perfect rental home:
- Summer months are high season in the Hilton Head area. To get the best value, shift your vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer pleasant weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic.
- Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Some property managers offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer renters an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local Hilton Head visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitors guide magazines contain discounts for nearby tours and attractions.

- Choose a group leader, choose your dates, and select a budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Palm-lined hideaway with pool, hammock, & spacious interior - dog-friendly has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, contact the property manager before booking your home. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds.
- If there's a particular Hilton Head destination you crave, search for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.
- Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or charges could be applied to your invoice.
More tips for your stay:
- Store the owner's contact information in your smartphone.
- To make certain that no damages are linked to your stay, record any problem areas when you arrive. Contact the host right away to relay your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Respect your neighbors. Frequently, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your vacation home while you are out. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- At departure, take a final walk-through to confirm you haven't leave anything behind. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.

- Did your group have a wonderful vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide comments.
