How to get the best Hilton Head rental experience:
Getting the best rental home value:
- In the Hilton Head area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved early. Booking your vacation property 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Hilton Head. Reserve your rental in Fall or Spring to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Booking websites typically offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Look for your local Hilton Head visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guides have money saving offers on nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Planning, picking, and booking the right Hilton Head rental home:
- Select a group leader, select your vacation week, and choose a max budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. 497 Captains Cove is a lovely property located close to the beach on HHI. has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is almost always accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, email the property owner before reserving the home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches.
- Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or costs could be applied to your agreement.
- Visiting for a specific event? Try a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
Have a wonderful stay:
- Put the manager's information in your smartphone.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are away, just like you would at home.
- To make certain damages are not attributed to your stay, make a record of any problem areas upon your arrival. E-mail the rental manager immediately to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Respect the neighborhood. Frequently, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all belongings. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a excellent stay? Most rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or host was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
