Strategies to get the optimal Hilton Head rental experience:
Finding the best value:
- Summer months are the most expensive season in Hilton Head. To find the best value, shift your group's trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer great weather, , and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Hilton Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Owners sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
- Look for your local Hilton Head visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, visitor guides have money saving offers on nearby shops and restaurants.
Planning and choosing your prefectrental:
- Select your dates and max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Family-friendly condo with washer\/dryer, central AC, & outdoor pool has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, email the property manager before you reserve the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds.
- If there's a particular Hilton Head beach you simply love, browse homes that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Some properties allow pets, but some don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the property management company about pets before booking.
More tips for your stay:
- Be sure you get the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental. Put the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To make certain no damages are attributed to your family's stay, make note of any problem areas upon check in. Contact the host right away to record your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be useful.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an excellent resource to find the best local scenic spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Lock your rental while you are out and about. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- Just before checking out, complete a final walk-through to confirm you did not leave anything behind. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on good reviews to drive future reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
