Hilton Head rental property booking tips and tricks:
Sticking to a spending plan:
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- To find the most suitable rental within your budget, we suggest reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at Hilton Head restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
- Property management companies sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
- Property managers often offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Hilton Head area visitor guides which often include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Hilton Head area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Make a plan and pick the rightrental home:
- Begin by selecting your a vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration you need. Beautiful Beachside Resort-Indoor/Outdoor Pools/Tennis/Hot Tub/WIFI has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Hilton Head rentals search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is commonly accessible online. If they are not listed, email the property owner before you reserve your rental. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to work out what is suitable for your vacation family.
- If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to search for a property that allows animals. Make sure to ask for details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a particular Hilton Head attraction you are enamored with, search for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.
During your stay:
- Get the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your .
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents many difficulties.
- Protect the owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are out, just like you would at home.
- Record any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately contact the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are valuable if a dispute arises.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a terrific source for finding the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected everything. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the host is not available, take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent feedback to drive future reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will be thankful you shared your review find their best vacation home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
