Hilton Head vacation rental home tips and tricks:

How to get the best value:

  • The earlier your group can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are booked very early. Booking your vacation home six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
  • Summer months are high season in the Hilton Head area. To find the best value, consider shifting your family's Hilton Head vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer pleasant temperatures, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic.
  • Some property management companies offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Often, rental management companies supply Hilton Head area visitor guide magazines which include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Hilton Head visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Narrow your rental Search:

  • Select your vacation dates and budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. only 2 minutes to the beach! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is commonly accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, email the property owner before booking the vacation home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to determine what bed configuration is right for your vacation family.
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or costs might be applied to your contract.
  • Visiting for a single attraction or event? Try a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.

Tips for your stay:

  • Add the host's phone number to your phone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, television set or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents quite a few problems.
  • Lock your rental while you are away. Keep your property safe!
  • To make sure that damages aren't attributed to your stay, inspect for any problem areas upon check in. text the host right away to relay any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Respect your neighbors. Frequently, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the property to confirm you've collected everything. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a terrific time? Most rental websites make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property manager was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
