Tips to get the perfect Hilton Head vacation property experience:

How to get the best rental home value:

  • Summer months are the most expensive season along the coast of SC. To get the best value, consider changing your vacation dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer excellent temperatures, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Hilton Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • In the Hilton Head area, The sooner you can book, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are booked early. Reserving your vacation home six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Property management companies typically offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local Hilton Head visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guides contain discounts for nearby tours and attractions.

How to choose the perfect rental in the Hilton Head area:

  • Choose a group leader, choose your vacation dates, and select a budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. only 2 minutes to the beach! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often available online. If they are not listed, contact the property manager before you reserve the vacation home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to determine what is suitable for your trip.
  • If there's a certain Hilton Head destination you long to visit, keep an eye out for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or charges could be applied to your agreement.

More tips for your visit:

  • Take a copy of the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your .
  • Note any damages to the property at check in, and immediately contact the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are useful if a dispute arises.
  • Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often an excellent source for finding the best local spots.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let burglars spoil your trip.
  • On check-out day, take a walk-through to confirm you didn't forget any personal items. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent ratings to drive new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
