Strategies to get the very best Hilton Head vacation property experience:
Sticking to your spending plan:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Hilton Head. To get the largest vacation home within your budget, we strongly suggest booking in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at Hilton Head restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
- In the Hilton Head area, The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are reserved very early. Booking your vacation rental up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
- Some hosts offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Hilton Head visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guides have deals for nearby accommodations and attractions.
Selecting and booking the bestrental:
- Select a group lead, select your vacation week, and select a maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Tranquil first floor condo - Hilton Head Beach & Tennis has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is generally accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, contact the property owner before you reserve the rental. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds. You will need to work out what is optimal for your vacation family.
- Does your family require specific amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental
- Some properties allow pets, and some do not. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the host about your furry family members before booking.
More tips for your visit:
- Get the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental.
- Document any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be very helpful if there is a dispute.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, elevator or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents many difficulties.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often times, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Just prior to departing, take a walk-through to make sure you did not forget any personal items. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on great feedback to inspire more bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
