Tricks and tips for getting the best vacation property experience:
How to get the best value:
- In the Hilton Head area, The sooner you can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The best properties are reserved early. Booking your rental home six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Hilton Head. Booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our favorite way to save money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Hilton Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Some property management companies offer discounts for veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
- Property managers frequently offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local Hilton Head area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guide magazines contain money saving offers on local tours, shops, and attractions.
Planning and picking your prefect Hilton Head vacation home:
- Select a group leader, choose your vacation dates, and select a spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. 4 bed/3 bath home in Shipyard with peaceful lagoon view and private pool has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, email the property management company before reserving the home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to determine what is optimal for your vacation.
- If your family is bringing pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Usually, property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a certain Hilton Head beach you are enamored with, browse rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.
Tips for a smooth stay:
- Add the property manager's phone number to your phone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call prevents quite a few issues.
- Lock your vacation home while you are out. Protect your property!
- To ensure that damages are not linked to your family's stay, make note of any problem areas during arrival. E-mail the host immediately to report any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a great source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all personal items. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, ensure that you take video of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your group have a excellent time? Most rental websites make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
