How to find the best Hilton Head rental home experience:
Getting the best rental home value:
- The sooner your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are booked early. Reserving your rental six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
- Summer months are the most expensive season in coastal SC. Reserving a rental home in the Fall or Spring is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
- Property management companies sometimes offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
- Booking websites frequently offer renters an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Hilton Head area visitors guides which include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Hilton Head visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Finding the best rental:
- Choose your vacation week and budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. 300 steps to the beach! - Pet Friendly Ranch Style House North Forest Beach has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually available online. Otherwise, email or call the property management company before booking the property. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to search for a rental that allows animals. Request specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
- Looking for specific amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.
More considerations for your visit:
- Store the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental while you are away. Keep your property safe!
- Make a record of any damages to the property during check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be useful if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers disrupting your life at home. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- When it's time to leave, complete a final walk-through to make sure you have not leave anything behind. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, take photographs of the property to record its condition.
- Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent ratings to compel future reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best vacation rental. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
