Tips and Tricks to get the best rental experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • In the Hilton Head area, The sooner you can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved very early. Reserving your rental six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Hilton Head area. Book your Hilton Head rental in the Spring or Fall to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Property managers usually offer renters an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Many rental management companies supply Hilton Head area visitor guide magazines that include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Hilton Head visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Finding the perfect rental in Hilton Head:

  • Begin by selecting a vacation week and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. 2 Oyster Catcher - 4Br Sea Pines Home Just 2 Minute Walk to the Beach! has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always accessible on booking websites. If not, reach out to the property manager before you reserve your rental. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or might be applied to your invoice.
  • If there's a specific Hilton Head beach you are enamored with, search for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental

Considerations for your stay:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property. Put the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Lock your rental property while you are gone! Don't let thieves spoil your holiday.
  • To make sure damages aren't linked to your stay, record any problem areas during check in. Speak to the rental manager immediately to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Be respectful. Often times, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Re-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed everything on check-out day. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on great feedback to inspire new reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
