Strategies for getting the best Hilton Head vacation rental experience:
How to get the best rental value:
- In the Hilton Head area, The earlier you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation rental six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. Book your Hilton Head rental property in Fall or Spring months to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
- Owners sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your family.
- Property managers usually offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Hilton Head area visitor guide magazines that include special offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Hilton Head visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Planning, selecting, and booking the right Hilton Head vacation home:
- First and foremost, have your group choose a vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Golf course and lagoon views! has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly available on booking pages. If they are not listed, email or call the host before you book the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to establish what configuration is best for your group.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Pet fees or may be applied to your contract.
- If there's an individual Hilton Head beach you simply love, keep an eye out for homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .
More considerations for your visit:
- We recommend storing the owner's contact information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, intercom or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent quite a few difficulties.
- Lock your rental while you are away. Protect your property!
- To ensure that no damages are attributed to your visit, note any problem areas upon check in. Speak to the host right away to record any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be useful.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Just before checking out, take a walk-through to confirm you haven't forget anything. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property a final time and look for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a excellent stay? Many rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
