Tips to get the perfect Hilton Head rental home experience:
Sticking to your rental budget:
- In the Hilton Head area, The sooner your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked early. Reserving your rental home six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
- Summer time is high season in the Hilton Head area. To find the best value, consider changing your family's Hilton Head vacation dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer warm weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Hilton Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Some property managers offer special rates for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your group.
- Property managers frequently offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
- Look for your local Hilton Head visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, visitor guide magazines contain offers and deals for local shops and restaurants.
Finding the perfect vacation rental:
- Begin by choosing a vacation week and a spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Waterfront Condo with Shared Pools, Hot Tubs, Private Balconies, and Ocean Views has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is regularly accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, call the host before you book the home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you will need a pet-friendly property. Get specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property managers charge additional pet fees.
- Visiting for a specific event? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.
Advice for a terrific stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Save the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, television set or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents quite a few concerns.
- Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are gone, just like you would back home.
- During check-in, document any issues with the property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a fantastic resource to find the best local scenic spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a wonderful stay? Many rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your property and/or property management company was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
