Booking the best Hilton Head rental home experience:
How to get the best rental home value:
- The earlier your group can book, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are booked early. Reserving your rental home 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
- June, July, and August are high season in the Hilton Head area. To book the most suitable rental home within budget, we suggest booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities.
- Owners sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your family.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Look for your local Hilton Head visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guides contain deals for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Planning and choosing the best Hilton Head vacation home:
- First, have your family commit to dates and a spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Peaceful Oceanfront Villa with Pools, Hot Tub, Tennis, & Ocean View has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is generally available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property manager before booking your rental. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Is your group looking for unique amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.
Some things to know before you go:
- Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent many issues.
- Lock your rental property while you are away! Don't let burglars ruin your trip.
- To ensure that damages aren't linked to your visit, record any problem areas during arrival. text the rental manager right away to document your findings. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Respect the neighborhood. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Double-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings at check-out. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a terrific stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
