THINGS TO KNOW

Parking notes: There is complimentary parking available for 6 cars.
5 days notification is required in order to heat the pool. A fee of USD 152 per day must be paid prior to check-in to purchase pool heat for your stay.
Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). Strategies to get the perfect vacation property experience:
Get the most from your vacation rental budget:
- Summer months are high season in Hilton Head. To book the most suitable rental home for your budget, we strongly suggest booking in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular attractions.
- Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your family qualifies for a special rate.
- Property managers typically offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guide magazines contain coupons for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Planning and choosing the right Hilton Head rental home:
- Select your vacation week and spending budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Conveniently located, gorgeous home with private pool & elevator - walk to beach has 7 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, call the property manager before booking the property. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction? Try a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before booking
- Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or charges might be applied to your agreement.
Some things to know before you go:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your smartphone.
- During arrival, document any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent quite a few issues.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a great resource to find the best local spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can often help. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are away, just like you would at home.
- At departure, complete a walk-through to confirm you haven't forget any personal items. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a fantastic vacation? Most rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or host was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
