Our top Hilton Head rental home booking tips:
When to visit Hilton Head & When to reserve a Hilton Head rental home:
- In the Hilton Head area, The sooner your group can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved very early. Reserving your rental property up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
- Book your vacation home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your group.
- Booking websites frequently offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
- Often, management companies supply Hilton Head area travel guide magazines which include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
How to select the best vacation home in the Hilton Head area:
- Select a group leader, select your vacation week, and select a max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. 5th floor condo with spectacular Ocean views! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Hilton Head rental home search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email the host before you reserve the rental. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches.
- If your family is traveling with pets, search for a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, property managers charge additional pet fees.
- Visiting for a specific event? Try a map search to find nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking
Know before you go:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Save the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents quite a few issues.
- Keep your rental home locked while you're away! Don't let thieves spoil your holiday.
- To make certain no damages are linked to your family's stay, make note of any problem areas when you arrive. Speak to the host immediately to report your findings. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Double-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a wonderful time? Most rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
