Tips to get the best vacation rental experience:

When to reserve a Hilton Head rental home & When to go:

  • Summer months are the most expensive season in Hilton Head. Booking a rental in the Spring or Fall is an excellent way to save money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Hilton Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • The sooner you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are reserved early. Reserving your vacation property 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your group qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Property managers often offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Many management companies supply Hilton Head area travel guide magazines which often include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Planning, picking, and booking the bestrental home:

  • Select your dates and budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Waterfront Penthouse Villa with Shared Pool and Ocean View - Close to the Beach has 2 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is normally accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, email or call the property owner before reserving the vacation property. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • Are you visiting for a single attraction? Try a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you must book a pet-friendly property. Get details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Add the host's information to your phone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • To ensure that damages are not attributed to your family's stay, inspect the property for any problem areas upon your arrival. Call the rental manager right away to document your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent a lot of issues.
  • Be respectful. Often, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • Double-check the property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, remember to take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a excellent vacation? Many rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
