***Dunes House Parking Lot Repaved & Updated***
December 2023 - Begining of March 2024
The PDPOA (Palmetto Dunes Property Owner's Association) are anticipating 90 days for the project.
The scope will include the replacement of the pathway, repaving, and re-configuring the road and parking areas. They will reconfigure the sidewalk near the entrance to the Dunes House. The beach boardwalk will remain open, but the pathway from Mooring Buoy will be demoed and widened at some point. The noisiest times will be MON–FRI, 7:00 am – 3:00 pm. Traffic will be directed via construction flaggers and should not be significantly impacted throughout the project. The most challenging time will be when the paving work is performed.

Complex Pool is open April 1 - September 30

Strategies to get the optimal Hilton Head rental home experience:

When to visit Hilton Head & When to book:

  • Reserve your rental property in the Spring or Fall to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
  • Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Booking websites frequently offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guides contain offers and deals for nearby tours and attractions.

How to select the best rental home in the Hilton Head area:

  • First and foremost, have your group agree to date ranges and a spending budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Hilton Head Vacation Rental steps away from the beach! has 2 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally available online. If you don't see them listed, email or call the host before booking the vacation property. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to work out which bed configuration is suitable for your family.
  • Looking for unique amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.
  • Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or could be applied to your agreement.

Additional considerations:

  • Be sure you get the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • To make sure that damages are not linked to your stay, make note of any problem areas upon check in. Speak to the host right away to relay any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, stereo or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of difficulties.
  • Respect your neighbors. Often times, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you're gone! Don't let crooks ruin your trip.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all of your things. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your family have a excellent vacation? Most rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
