Booking the best Hilton Head rental home experience:

Getting the most from your spending budget:

  • Booking your Hilton Head vacation rental in Spring or Fall is a good way to save money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties.
  • In the Hilton Head area, The earlier you can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked very early. Booking your vacation rental six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
  • Owners sometimes offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
  • Property managers usually offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Find a copy of your local Hilton Head visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitors guide magazines contain offers and deals for nearby accommodations and attractions.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Begin by choosing your the best vacation week and a spending budget.
  • Crabline 49 has 5 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is often available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, call the property owner before you reserve your home. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • If there's a particular Hilton Head attraction you are crazy about, keep an eye out for properties that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. .
  • Some rentals allow pets, and some do not. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask your host about pets before booking.

Tips for a wonderful stay:

  • Add the host's phone number to your phone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Upon check-in, record any issues with the property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, stereo or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent a lot of concerns.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often an incredible resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • Re-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property a final time and look for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, remember to take video of the property to record its condition.
  • Did you have a fantastic stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
