Vacation rental home tips and tricks:
Money saving strategies:
- To find the most suitable rental home for your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular attractions. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Hilton Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- The sooner your group can book, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are reserved early. Booking your rental home up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
- Hosts sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Often, rental management companies supply Hilton Head area travel guides which include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Finding the best rental in the Hilton Head area:
- Begin by choosing potential vacation weeks and a max budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Large Three Bedroom Villa in the Heart of Palmetto Dunes! has 3 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally available on booking pages. If not, call the property management company before booking the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If there's a certain Hilton Head destination you long to visit, keep an eye out for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
- If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly rental. Request specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
Advice for your stay:
- Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- At Check-in, note any damages to the property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your rental while you are away. Keep your property safe!
- On check-out day, take a final walk-through to confirm you have not forget anything. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a fantastic stay? Most rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
