Our top Rental home booking tips:
How to get the best rental value:
- Reserve your Hilton Head vacation home in Fall or Spring to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- In the Hilton Head area, The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are booked very early. Booking your rental property up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
- Some owners offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer renters an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Hilton Head visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitor guide magazines contain offers and deals for nearby shops and restaurants.
Planning, selecting, and booking the rightvacation home:
- To start, have your family decide on vacation dates and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Dog-friendly home with private pool & spa - close to beach has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Hilton Head rental home search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property owner before reserving the rental. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches. You'll need to work out what configuration is suitable for your vacation family.
- Are you visiting for a specific event? Try a map search to find nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. .
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some property owners charge additional pet fees.
More tips for your visit:
- Get the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your .
- To make certain that no damages are attributed to your visit, make note of any problem areas when you arrive. Call the host immediately to record your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent lots of problems.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a terrific resource to find the best local attractions.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Keep the property locked while you are out! Don't let burglars ruin your trip.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent feedback to inspire new reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
