Strategies to get the perfect Hilton Head vacation home experience:
Finding your perfect vacation home:
- Summer is high season in Hilton Head. Reserve your Hilton Head vacation home in Fall or Spring months to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Hosts sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your family.
- Property managers typically offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Many rental management companies supply Hilton Head area visitors guides which will include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Hilton Head visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Lock your vacation home while you are away. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- Upon check-out, complete a final walk-through to make sure you haven't leave anything behind. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
