Strategies to get the very best Hilton Head vacation rental experience:

Sticking to your spending plan:

  • In the Hilton Head area, The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are reserved very early. Booking your vacation rental six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
  • Book your vacation home in Fall or Spring to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Hilton Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
  • Property managers frequently offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Look for your local Hilton Head visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guide magazines contain offers and deals for local accommodations, tours and attractions.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Begin by choosing your the best vacation week and a max budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. 32 Corine Lane - Close to the beach, Seasonal Beach Shuttle, $1000 Free Activities Included has 6 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, call the property management company before booking the home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to work out what is optimal for your group.
  • Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or may be applied to your contract.
  • Looking for particular amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental

Considerations for your stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent many issues.
  • Lock your rental while you're out and about. Protect your property!
  • To make certain that damages aren't linked to your family's stay, record any problem areas upon your arrival. message the host immediately to document any damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors disrupting your peaceful home. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and attractions you would have not otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can typically help. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all personal items. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on great reviews to inspire future bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
