Our top Rental home booking tips:

When to visit Hilton Head & When to book:

  • The sooner your group can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved very early. Reserving your rental home six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
  • Summertime is high season in Hilton Head. Booking in the Fall or Spring is our best tip for saving money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Hilton Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your group.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer renters an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guide magazines have money saving offers on nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Choose vacation week and spending budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family requires. New luxury rental - Hot Tub\/ Pool -75 steps to beach - Heritage Discounted! has 7 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Hilton Head rentals search.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often available on booking pages. If not, call the property manager before booking the vacation home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly property. Get information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • Is your group looking for specific amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.

Tips to have a fantastic stay:

  • Get the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, stereo or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent many difficulties.
  • Lock your rental property while you're out! Don't let crooks spoil your holiday.
  • To make certain that damages are not linked to your stay, inspect the property for any problem areas upon check in. E-mail the host immediately to relay any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are an excellent source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Double-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed everything on check-out day. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your group have a excellent stay? Most rental managers make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
