Strategies for getting the best Hilton Head rental home experience:
Finding the best value:
- Summer months are high season in Hilton Head. To get the best value, consider changing your family's Hilton Head vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer great temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Hilton Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property management companies typically offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
- Look for your local Hilton Head area magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guides contain money saving offers on local tours, shops, and attractions.
How to choose and book the bestrental:
- Begin by choosing trip dates and a budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Conveniently located, gorgeous home with private pool & elevator - walk to beach has 9 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is regularly accessible online. If they are not listed, contact the host before reserving the home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches.
- If there's a certain Hilton Head destination you are enamored with, search for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.
- Some properties allow pets, but some don't. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the host about your furry family members before booking.
More tips for your stay:
- Add the host's phone number to your phone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- To make certain that damages are not linked to your family's visit, inspect the property for any problem areas when you arrive. Speak to the host right away to report your findings. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent a lot of issues.
- Be a good neighbor. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are gone, just like you would back home.
- At departure, complete a walk-through to make sure you didn't leave anything behind. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on great feedback to inspire more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your experience find their best vacation home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
