Tips and Tricks to get the best Hilton Head vacation home experience:
Sticking to your budget:
- Summertime is high season in the Hilton Head area. Booking your vacation rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our favorite way to save money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Hilton Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- In the Hilton Head area, The sooner your group can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are booked very early. Booking your rental home up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Many rental management companies supply Hilton Head area visitors guide magazines which often include special offers, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Planning and choosing your prefect Hilton Head vacation home:
- Choose a designated group leader, select your dates, and select a maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Quiet Getaway with Pools, Hot tub, Tennis Courts, and Ocean Views has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, call the property owner before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.

- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
- Some properties allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask your host about your furry family members before booking.

- During check-in, note any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers bothering your home life. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Lock your vacation home while you're away. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
