Strategies to get the best rental home experience:

Sticking to your rental home budget:

  • The earlier your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are reserved very early. Booking your vacation property up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
  • Summer is high season in Hilton Head. Reserve your rental in the Spring or Fall to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Hilton Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer special rates for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your group.
  • Property managers typically offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Many property management companies supply Hilton Head area travel guides which will include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Hilton Head visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Planning, selecting, and booking yourvacation home:

  • Start by having your family choose the best dates and a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration you need. Panoramic view of the George Fazio Golf Course! has 1 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is normally accessible online. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property manager before booking the property. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds. You will need to work out what bed configuration is right for your vacation.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you will need a pet-friendly vacation rental. Request information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some property owners charge additional pet fees.
  • Visiting for a specific attraction or event? Try a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. .

Know before you go:

  • Get the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, television set or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent quite a few difficulties.
  • Lock your rental while you're out. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • At Check-in, record any damages to the property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers bothering your home life. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and attractions you would have never otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all belongings. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Leave a review! Hosts rely on good reviews to stimulate new bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your experience find their best vacation home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
