Booking the best Hilton Head rental home experience:

Find your perfect vacation home:

  • In the Hilton Head area, The earlier your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best properties are reserved early. Reserving your vacation home six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Hilton Head area. To find the largest vacation home for your budget, we highly recommend reserving in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at popular attractions and restaurants.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your family qualifies for a special rate.
  • Booking websites usually offer renters an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
  • Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Hilton Head area travel guides which will include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Hilton Head area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Choosing the perfect rental home in the Hilton Head area:

  • Select dates and budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. The best of everything in this stunning ocean view villa. has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Hilton Head rental home search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally accessible online. If they are not listed, contact the host before booking the rental. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds.
  • Some rentals allow pets, but others do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask your host about pet restrictions before booking.
  • If there's a particular Hilton Head attraction you long to visit, keep an eye out for properties that are either close by, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .

Additional considerations:

  • We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent a lot of issues.
  • Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are out, just like you would at home.
  • To make certain no damages are attributed to your family's stay, make note of any problem areas upon check in. message the property manager right away to report any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a fantastic source for finding the best local beaches.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can frequently help. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Upon check-out, take a final walk-through to confirm you didn't leave anything behind. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did you have a fantastic time? Many rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
