Tips and Tricks to get the best Hilton Head rental home experience:

Getting the most from your budget:

  • In the Hilton Head area, The sooner your group can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are reserved early. Booking your vacation rental up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
  • Booking your vacation rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our best tip for saving money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your group qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Property management companies usually offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local Hilton Head visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guide magazines have coupons for local tours and attractions.

Filter your search:

  • Begin by selecting potential vacation weeks and a spending budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration your group requires. Fun island retreat with pool, hot tub, beach access & balcony has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Hilton Head rental home search.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property owner before you reserve the property. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds. You'll need to determine what bed configuration is best for your trip.
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Pet fees or charges may be applied to your agreement.
  • If there's a certain Hilton Head beach you are crazy about, keep an eye out for homes that are either near by, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .

During your stay:

  • Add the owner's contact info to your phone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your vacation home while you're away. Protect your property!
  • During arrival, record any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a fantastic source for finding the best local attractions.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can frequently help. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Re-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at departure. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental a final time and scan for damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on great reviews to drive more reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
