Booking the best Hilton Head vacation home experience:
Getting the best rental value:
- In the Hilton Head area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are reserved early. Booking your vacation home six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
- June, July, and August are high season in the Hilton Head area. Reserve your Hilton Head rental in Spring or Fall to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
- Property management companies sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites frequently offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Hilton Head area travel guide magazines which often include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Hilton Head area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- Start by selecting your trip dates and a max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Ocean Front Rated #1 BEACH FRONT “The Copper Roof Mansion” has 5 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is generally available on booking pages. If they are not listed, reach out to the property owner before you reserve the rental. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to work out which bed configuration is best for your vacation group.
- Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or might be applied to your agreement.
- Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.
Considerations for your stay:
- We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents lots of issues.
- Lock your rental property while you're gone! Don't let burglars spoil your trip.
- Record any damages to the property during check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be helpful if damages are assessed.
- Respect your neighbors. Often, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Double-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a fantastic stay? Most rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
