Tips to get the perfect vacation home experience:

Get the most from your rental home budget:

  • In the Hilton Head area, The sooner your group can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are booked early. Reserving your vacation rental up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
  • June, July, and August are high season in the Hilton Head area. To get the largest rental within your budget, we recommend reserving in Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities.
  • Property managers sometimes offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your group.
  • Property management companies typically offer renters an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local Hilton Head visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, visitors guides have coupons for nearby accommodations and attractions.

Narrow your Search:

  • First and foremost, have your family select the best dates and a max budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration your group needs. Fantastic ocean view and close to dining, shopping & Coligny! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is almost always accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, contact the host before you book the property. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • If your group is bringing pets, you must book a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's an individual Hilton Head destination you are crazy about, browse homes that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking

Tips for your stay:

  • Get the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your .
  • Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • To make certain that damages aren't linked to your family's stay, make a record of any problem areas during check in. text the rental manager right away to document any issues. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a terrific resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • When it's time to leave, take a final walk-through to confirm you didn't forget any personal items. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental a final time and scan for damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, remember to take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a terrific vacation? Most rental managers make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
