Our top Hilton Head rental booking tips:
Sticking to your rental budget:
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summertime is the most expensive season in Hilton Head. To book the largest rental within budget, we strongly suggest reserving in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Hilton Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Some hosts offer promotional rates for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
- Booking websites frequently offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Hilton Head area travel guides which will include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Hilton Head visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Narrow your Search:
- Choose vacation dates and max budget.
- Captains Walk 416 has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property manager before you reserve your rental. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to find a rental that allows animals. Ask for information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
- Are you looking for specific amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking
Know before you go:
- Add the host's information to your phone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, television set or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents lots of difficulties.
- Keep the property locked while you're out! Don't let burglars ruin your holiday.
- To make certain that damages aren't attributed to your stay, record any problem areas during arrival. Speak to the host right away to relay your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be useful.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a fantastic resource to find the best local attractions.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Just before checking out, complete a walk-through to confirm you have not forget anything. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent ratings to propel new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
