How to find the best Hilton Head vacation property experience:

When to book & When to go:

  • June, July, and August are high season in Hilton Head. Reserving a rental home in the Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local Hilton Head area magazine when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, travel guides contain offers and deals for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Use filters to narrow your search:

  • Begin by choosing the best vacation week and a spending budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Ideal Hilton Head vacation rental for family gatherings! has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is often available on booking pages. If they are not listed, email the property owner before you book the home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • If there's a certain Hilton Head attraction you love, look for properties that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • Some rentals allow pets, and some don't. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask your host about your furry family members before booking.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Store the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To make certain that damages aren't linked to your family's visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas when you arrive. message the host immediately to report any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of concerns.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Often times, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let burglars spoil your holiday.
  • Upon check-out, complete a walk-through to confirm you have not forget any personal items. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, ensure that you take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a excellent vacation? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
