How to book the best Hilton Head rental experience:

Find your perfect rental:

  • Reserving a rental home in Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
  • Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some property managers offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Property management companies usually offer their guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local Hilton Head area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, visitor guide magazines contain coupons for local tours and attractions.

Planning, picking, and booking your prefect Hilton Head rental:

  • Choose your vacation week and max budget.
  • Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. George Fazio Golf Course Views with Updated Bathrooms! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Hilton Head vacation rental search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is often available online. Otherwise, call the host before you reserve the rental. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds. You will need to establish what configuration is suitable for your vacation family.
  • Visiting for a single attraction or event? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to search for a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, property managers charge pet deposits and fees.

Advice for a smooth stay:

  • We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • During check-in, note any issues with the property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
  • Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers bothering your life at home. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and attractions you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home when you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Just prior to departing, take a walk-through to make sure you didn't forget any personal items. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did you have a fantastic stay? Most rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
