Strategies to get the best Hilton Head vacation property experience:

When to book a Hilton Head rental home & When to go:

  • The sooner you can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are booked very early. Reserving your vacation property up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
  • Booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is one of our best tips for saving money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Hilton Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer customers an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, visitors guides contain money saving offers on local accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Choosing and booking a perfect Hilton Head vacation home:

  • Select your vacation week and budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Wonderfully Updated Two Bedroom Condominium with Ocean Views! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is generally accessible on booking pages. If not, email the property manager before you reserve the vacation property. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you must book a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Usually, property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's an individual Hilton Head destination you are crazy about, search for properties that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

Have a fantastic stay:

  • Add the host's phone number to your phone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, intercom or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent lots of problems.
  • Lock your rental property while you are out! Don't let crooks spoil your holiday.
  • To ensure that damages are not linked to your family's stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas during arrival. Make contact with the host immediately to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers disrupting your peace. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • At departure, take a final walk-through to make sure you didn't forget anything. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your group have a terrific time? Most rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your property and/or host was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
