Finding the best rental home experience:

How to get the best rental home value:

  • The sooner your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved very early. Booking your vacation home 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
  • Summer is the most expensive season in Hilton Head. Booking a rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is a great way to save money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Hilton Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
  • Property managers usually offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Look for your local Hilton Head area magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guides have discounts for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Select a group leader, select your dates, and select a max budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration your group requires. Beautiful Oceanfront Villa! Beach side Heated Swimming Pool has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly available on booking pages. If not, contact the host before you book the vacation home. • Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or might be applied to your contract.
  • If there's an individual Hilton Head beach you are enamored with, browse properties that are either close by, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .

Know before you go:

  • Add the host's phone number to your phone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Lock your rental home while you are out and about. Protect your property!
  • To ensure that no damages are attributed to your family's stay, note any problem areas when you arrive. Call the host immediately to record any damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Respect your neighbors. Often times, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Double-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed everything on check-out day. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the property a final time and look for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager is not available, take photos of the property to record its condition.
  • Leave feedback! Property managers rely on great ratings to drive future reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
