Hilton Head Island has been ranked the #1 Island in the Continental U.S. and #1 Island in the U.S. by readers of Travel + Leisure Magazine and Conde Nast Traveler for the past numerous years. In my slightly biased opinion you just can't find a better beach. The sand, the water, the HHI lifestyle - it just can't be beat. And speaking of "it just can't be beat," again while I might be slightly biased, I believe our beachfront condo in The Spa on Port Royal Sound is the best location you can find on the island. Our condo features 2 bedrooms and 2 baths. The master suite features a queen bed with private ensuite and the 2nd bedroom features 2 sets of twin bunk beds. The living area also has a queen size sleeper couch Our unit is close to everything. Just steps from your door to the fabulous beach. 2 outdoor community pools, an indoor pool and hot tub, sauna and gym!! BBQ grilles. Delightfully manicured grounds. It has everything. And the best news? We are new to renting out our newly modernized condo and offering great prices for the next few months, even into the peak weeks of Spring and Summer. But you have to act fast!

Our top Rental property booking tips and tricks:
Sticking to a rental budget:
- Booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is an excellent way to save money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Hilton Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers usually offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Look for your local Hilton Head visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guide magazines have coupons for local shops and restaurants.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- Begin by selecting your vacation dates and a spending budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your family requires. The Spa at Port Royal Sound 3237 has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is generally available on booking pages. If they are not listed, contact the property owner before reserving the vacation property. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches. You will need to determine what is right for your vacation family.
- If there's an individual Hilton Head beach you long to visit, search for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
- If your family is bringing pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly property. Get information on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, hosts charge additional pet fees.
More considerations:
- Add the property manager's contact information to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Note any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately contact the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be helpful if damages are assessed.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Often, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are gone, just like you would at home.
- At departure, take a walk-through to confirm you didn't leave anything behind. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on great ratings to inspire more bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
