Getting the best Hilton Head vacation property experience:

Money saving strategies:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. To find the most suitable rental home for your budget, we highly recommend booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at Hilton Head restaurants, tours, and activities.
  • Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Many property management companies supply Hilton Head area travel guide magazines which often include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Make a plan and choose your prefectvacation home:

  • First, have your group agree to vacation dates and a max budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Stunning oceanfront villa with WiFi, pool & hot tub, private balcony has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is almost always accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, reach out to the property management company before reserving the rental. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds. You'll need to work out what configuration is right for your vacation group.
  • Looking for special amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Pet fees or charges may be applied to your invoice.

More tips for your stay:

  • Be sure you get the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental.
  • To make sure damages are not linked to your visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas during arrival. Get in touch with the rental manager right away to record any damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, television set or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents quite a few problems.
  • Be a good neighbor. Often times, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Lock your rental home while you are away. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental to make sure you've collected everything. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can. If the host is not available, ensure that you take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on good reviews to drive future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
