Strategies to get the perfect rental home experience:

Sticking to your spending budget:

  • The earlier your group can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are booked early. Reserving your vacation home six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
  • Summertime is the most expensive season in the Hilton Head area. Book your Hilton Head rental home in Spring or Fall to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
  • Some owners offer discounts for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your group.
  • Property managers frequently offer customers an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guides have discounts for local tours and attractions.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Select a group lead, choose your dates, and select a spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration you need. 3 Bed\/4 Bath Sleeps 10 Townhouse Style Villa in Palmetto Dunes With Golf View has 3 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally available on booking websites. Otherwise, contact the property manager before you book the property. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you must book a property that allows animals. Get details on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's a specific Hilton Head destination you crave, look for homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking

Advice for a wonderful stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Save the instructions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents quite a few difficulties.
  • Lock your vacation home while you are out and about. Keep your property safe!
  • To make certain no damages are linked to your family's stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon check in. message the rental manager right away to document any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often times, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Just before checking out, take a walk-through to make sure you did not forget any personal items. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property one final time and scan for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent ratings to stimulate more bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best vacation rental. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
