Tips and Tricks to get the perfect Hilton Head vacation rental experience:
When to go & When to reserve a Hilton Head rental home:
- Summer is high season in Hilton Head. Reserve your Hilton Head rental property in Spring or Fall to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Hilton Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- In the Hilton Head area, The sooner your group can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved early. Reserving your vacation property up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
- Some property management companies offer discounts for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers typically offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Hilton Head area travel guide magazines that include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Hilton Head visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to pick the perfect rental in the Hilton Head area:
- Choose a group leader, select your vacation dates, and select a budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Spacious condo with pool, tennis courts, & golf on-site has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly available on booking websites. Otherwise, email or call the property manager before you reserve the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to work out which bed configuration is best for your group.
- If there's a specific Hilton Head attraction you are crazy about, browse homes that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get information on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some property owners charge additional pet fees.
Have a great stay:
- Put the manager's information in your smartphone.
- Upon arrival, document any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be an excellent resource to find the best local scenic spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your rental while you're out. Keep your property safe!
- Just prior to departing, take a final walk-through to make sure you didn't forget anything. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a excellent stay? Most rental managers make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
