Tips to get the best vacation property experience:

Sticking to a budget:

  • The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked very early. Booking your rental home six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
  • To find the most suitable rental for your budget, we recommend reserving in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Hilton Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer promotional rates for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your family.
  • Property managers usually offer renters an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local Hilton Head area magazine upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, visitors guide magazines have money saving offers on nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Choosing the perfect rental home in the Hilton Head area:

  • Select a group lead, select your dates, and choose a budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Bright and sunny villa overlooking the Fazio Golf course- pet friendly has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is usually available on booking pages. If not, email or call the property management company before reserving the property. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds.
  • If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly property. Get specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Some hosts charge additional pet fees.
  • Does your family require special amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.

Know before you go:

  • Get the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let thieves ruin your holiday.
  • To make certain that damages are not linked to your visit, record any problem areas upon your arrival. E-mail the property manager immediately to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a terrific resource to find the best local scenic spots.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Upon check-out, complete a final walk-through to confirm you didn't forget anything. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can. If the host isn't available, remember to take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave feedback! Property owners rely on good reviews to inspire more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
