Getting the best Hilton Head rental home experience:
How to get the best value:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. Reserving a rental home in the Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Hilton Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your group qualifies for a discount.
- Booking websites usually offer renters an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
- Look for your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guide magazines contain discounts for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Make a plan and choose a perfectrental:
- Start by having your family choose dates and a budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Nautical condo with a balcony, & AC - close to pickleball and tennis courts has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is normally accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email the property manager before booking the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to work out what is suitable for your vacation family.
- Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? If so, use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you must book a pet-friendly vacation rental. Make sure to ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Usually, property owners charge additional pet fees.
Advice for a fantastic stay:
- Add the owner's phone number to your phone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Make a record of any issues with the rental during check in, and immediately contact the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are very helpful if a dispute is filed.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents many problems.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often an excellent resource to find the best local attractions.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your rental home while you're out. Protect your property!
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all belongings. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a excellent stay? Most rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
