Tips to get the perfect Hilton Head vacation home experience:
Find your best deal:
- In the Hilton Head area, The earlier you can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The best properties are reserved very early. Reserving your rental six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Hilton Head. To book the largest rental home within your budget, we recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at Hilton Head restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property management companies typically offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Hilton Head area travel guides that include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Hilton Head visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Make a plan and choose your Hilton Head vacation home:
- Select your dates and max budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Golf course-front condo close to beach with shared pool & W/D has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is regularly accessible online. If you don't see them listed, email the host before reserving the rental. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Pet fees or applied to your invoice.
- If there's a particular Hilton Head destination you are crazy about, search for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.
Additional considerations:
- Get the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent quite a few difficulties.
- Lock your rental property while you're away! Don't let burglars ruin your family vacation.
- To make certain that damages are not attributed to your family's visit, record any problem areas upon your arrival. text the property manager right away to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a fantastic source for finding the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Upon check-out, take a walk-through to make sure you haven't forget any personal items. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on good ratings to inspire future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback.
